Bella Bella
Bella Bella is a beautiful island community off the central coast of British Columbia. It is 690 km north of Vancouver, near Campbell Island. It is surrounded by a magical world of channels, inlets and old growth forest. It is home to salmon, orcas, humpbacks, bald eagles and the other denizens of the Pacific Northwest.
Life in Bella Bella is defined by its physical geography and population of about 1500 people. Here you will discover the challenges and rewards a remote location adds to the practice of health care.
Bella Bella is home to the Heiltsuk Nation, a proud and progressive First Nations community. Our UCHS hospital is in the centre of the community. It is a focal point for community life in many ways. Working and living here will give you a real sense of richness of aboriginal culture in its home environment.
